Tavira Tavira is a lovely old town which
stands on either side of the river Giláo. |
 |
Tavira and the Islands of Olhão The beaches to the East of
Faro are quite different form those to the West – they’re
sheltered lagoons formed by sand islands – perfect for toddlers.
Tavira is a delightful, authentic town, and the town
beach is easy to reach. Or you can take a boat trip from the
port of Olhao (closer to Faro than Tavira, around 30-mins drive)
(...) When you get there, you can choose form any number of
deserted, white sand beaches with calm, lagoon-like waters. |

Discover the Real Algarve! Cultural
Life in and around Tavira Lovers of culture can taste it in
Tavira and its region well into the
hinterland. The "Venice of the Algarve" is divided by the Rio
Gilão, which flows into the Atlantic here. A seven arched Roman
bridge spans the river. Nowadays it is reserved for pedestrians
and offers a good standpoint for photographing the picturesque
houses on the riverbanks. (...) |
 |
 |
|
(...) Danach geht es weiter nach
Olhão, auch Würfel- oder Kubenstadt genannt. Beeindruckend wirkt
